Alpha-Omega Miracle Home to Break Ground on New Campus Thanks to $3.5 Million Freedom First Allocation

6/15/2022

St. Augustine, Fla., Jun.15, 2022— Alpha-Omega Miracle Home’s (AOMH) mission of housing single mothers,
their children and senior women facing homelessness is the recipient of a $3.5 million dollar allocation for a
new campus from the Freedom First budget signed by Governor DeSantis and backed by key advocates
Senator Travis Hudson, Florida House Representative Paul Renner, and State Representative Cyndi
Stevenson.
These funds will allow AOMH to break ground in the next 90 days and complete all of the required horizontal
infrastructure for its new campus. AOMH hopes that with additional funding from the community, the vertical
improvements (i.e. apartments, dorms, etc.) on the campus will begin in 12 to 18 months. The total estimated
budget for the project is $14 million.
When completed the new campus will include 20 two-bedroom apartments, 12 efficiency apartments, and 6
dormitory style rooms, housing up to 100 residents helping provide affordable housing and comprehensive
support services in the area through AOMH's Programs. There will also be a community care center which
will have the main administrative offices for AOMH as well as rooms for therapy, life skills, case management,
an auditorium, and kitchen.
“This funding will have such a huge impact on our expansion. The support from our elected officials was critical
and these funds will set the stage for our organization to house, equip and bless so many more of our area's
most vulnerable populations,” said CEO and Founder, Lisa Franklin. “The State funding is a monetary waterfall
for the expansion project and we are so grateful for the support and advocacy we received from Senator
Hudson, Representative Renner, and State Representative Stevenson as well as from St. Johns County who
has been a great resource for grant funding. Together we can build a bridge for a better tomorrow.”
“Alpha-Omega Miracle Home provides a safe and supportive environment to women and children whose lives
have been left in a state of chaos and uncertainty,” explained Representative Stevenson. “Alpha-Omega
Miracle Home not only gives these people a life-line, but also provides them with life skills to become
self-sufficient. I endorse Alpha-Omega Miracle Home and hope the legislator’s recent 3.5 million dollar
allotment will help many women and their children in our St. Johns County Community.”
